Technical Requirements for:

Community Works
Laughing Matters
Corporate Entertainment

Community Works

Each Community Works experience is specifically tailored so there will be ‘to be determined’ variations on our technical needs. Listed below are the basic needs for most of our offerings. Keep in mind we are adaptable to your setting.

The Room

* There is always movement in our interactive workshops; we don’t lecture, so there needs to be space to move.
* Tables and chairs can be arranged in an informal circle, or in groups of 6-10 depending on group size.
* We will need a small table at the front of the room for our supplies.
* It’s critical that there are clear site lines from the participants to the front of the room.
* Natural light and lots of it is great if possible.

Support Equipment May Include:

* Two flipchart stands
* Powerpoint projector and screen (we’ll bring our own laptop)
* Speakers that can be plugged into our computer (if the group is larger than 60)

Sound

* Groups over 100 or awkwardly shaped rooms require the performers to use microphones. To allow movement the talent must wear lavaliere (body) mikes.
* For an additional fee we can supply a sound person and equipment.
* If you decide you take care of sound requirements yourself, please understand that the technician must be present during the workshop.

Amenities

* Water jug and glasses

We look forward to working with you.

Laughing Matters

Each Laughing Matters experience is specifically tailored so there will be ‘to be determined’ variations on our technical needs. What are listed below are the basic needs for most of our offerings. Keep in mind we are adaptable to your setting.

Corporate Entertainment

Each Comedy Creation experience is specifically tailored so there will be ‘to be determined’ variations on our technical needs. Listed below are the basic needs for most of our presentations. Keep in mind we are adaptable to unique situations.

Green Room

* A lockable room where we can leave our personal things
* Chairs and table
* A full length mirror
* Coat rack
* Water, coffee or soda

The Room

* As comedy requires a connection, we need the audience to be near the stage. Dance floors and catering tables that are placed between the performance and the audience will almost guarantee a poorly received show.
* Where possible we would like to see the floor plan ahead of time.
* Beware of large centrepieces that will obscure stage views.
* Ambient music must be off during the show.

Staging

* Everyone needs to be able to see the show.
* The bigger the audience the higher the stage needs to be.
* We generally like to perform on a 12 x 12 riser that is at least a couple of feet off the ground.
* We would like two chairs on the sides of the stage.
* If present, podiums should be placed to the left or right on the stage and not in the middle. They should also be at least four feet back from the edge of the stage.

Lighting

* We do not require the audience to be dark however area lights that can brighten the performance area are required.
* If we can dim the lights in the audience that is ideal as well.
* Track lighting in most hotels can be adjusted ahead of time.

Sound

* Groups over 100 or awkwardly shaped rooms require the performers to use microphones. To allow movement the talent must wear lavaliere (body) mikes.
* For an additional fee we can supply a sound person and equipment.
* If you decide you take care of sound requirements yourself, please understand that the technician must be present during our performance.
* For all presentations we need one microphone on a stand as well; this can be a podium mike. This does not require a technician.

Music

* As music lifts the show and heightens the experience for your audience, we highly recommend you add music to your comedy creation.
* We have a great canned music person or a live pianist that can be included.
